These unique, fully supported, wilderness running expeditions have been pioneered by Wildrunner, trail & mountain running specialists based in Cape Town, South Africa.
Wildrunner was established in November 2007 and has since hosted over 380 trail running events & expeditions in South African, Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Rwanda and Tanzania.
Working together with specialist in country partners and communities, Wildrunner has built a foundational fabric that allows them to unlock true wilderness running spaces, and with it the magic that lies within.

"I participated in this event in 2019. It was a wonderful experience and a great way to see the country. We were exposed to the various industries particularly the tea and coffee plantations, the city , Lake Kivu and surrounding mountains.
We went up Mount Bisoke in search of gorillas but never saw any. I think that it may be worth to pay the extra amount included into the run to be guaranteed a gorilla sighting if this is a main motivation for participating in the event.
The organisation was fabulous and the greetings at the end of the day with hot face towels and cold beers awesome. "
